The Senior Manager, Global Corporate Communications will provide PR and external communications support for our Asset Lifecycle Management and Data Center business units. This person has to be a strong writer and communicator who can connect the messaging across the company’s portfolio, effectively translating strategic messaging into the appropriate mix of compelling and timely external communication and PR strategies, tactics, and initiatives supporting the Iron Mountain growth story.
The Senior Manager, Global Corporate Communications can roll up their sleeves, working cross-functionally, interacting with senior leadership and PR agency partners to deliver results.
This position reports to the Director of Corporate Communications and Corporate Reputation.
Collaboration: will work closely with multiple business units, global, regional, and local market teams, company leadership, communications business partners, channel and analytics, social media, investor relations, brand marketing, and HR/employee relations.
What you will do:
Develop and implement external communication plans that increase awareness and elevate corporate reputation through PR, media and influencer relations, interviews, op-eds, byline articles, and other external communication tactics.
Develop and deploy tactical external media and public relations communication plans over the short and long term. Ensures these plans are aligned with the global corporate communications strategy and aligned to with appropriate internal stakeholders.
Work with regional and local market stakeholders and public relations agency partners to execute a global external communications plan in a locally relevant way.
Act as the main point of contact and subject matter expert driving external communications for all Tech, Innovation, M&A, and strategic initiatives supporting company growth goals.
Develop thoughtful and interesting content for external communication opportunities, including press releases, byline articles, blogs, messaging documents, talking points, executive bios, and other executive thought leadership pieces.
Set measurable program goals; measure and report on progress.
Work closely with the social media and editorial team to maximize the reach of our stories through owned channels.
What you will bring to the role:
10 years minimum global external communication, executive thought leadership and/or PR experience; PR agency or in-house corporate experience.
Tech and ESG PR and/or external communications experience. ALM and/or Data Center experience preferred but not required.
Experience working in a highly matrixed corporate environment. Understanding of the nuances in working for a large, global public company.
Exceptional relationship builder and collaborator with the ability to partner cross-functionally building consensus among multiple key stakeholders.
Demonstrated success working with global PR firms and other PR-related agencies.
Excellent writing and editing skills (press releases, POV articles, bylines, thought leadership).
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong planning, management and organizational skills.
Track record in managing multiple projects simultaneously with competing deadlines.
Possess a proven ability to work autonomously.
Experience in B2B communications.
Experience working with Investor Relations, M&A and Finance teams.
Demonstrate solid judgment with a bias toward action; highly decisive. Can critically evaluate the costs, risks, and impacts of different options before making a decision.
Proven experience in effectively communicating with executive-level leaders and outside thought leaders to win support for programs.
