The VP of Marketing Strategy, Planning and Operations is an experienced strategy, operations and cross-functional leader, working with our Head of Global Marketing and the Marketing Leadership Team to drive strategic initiatives, programs and outcomes across the global marketing organization. Reporting directly to the Head of Global Marketing, you will work closely within marketing and cross functional teams (business units, regional sales teams, IT, operations) to define integrated GTM plans and strategies that achieve results. The results of your work will enhance market reputation, build customer relationships and drive additional revenue.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy & Planning : Iron Mountain is an expanding global enterprise comprising business units, sales & operations and support functions. Your team will build bridges with all relevant stakeholders (mostly BUs) to build integrated marketing frameworks to achieve pipeline, bookings and EBIDTA results. You will lead the annual planning cycle on behalf of Global Marketing, and create an annual and quarterly marketing calendar that shows points of intersection and dependencies, and ensure all parties are on the same page and rowing in the same direction. You will be accountable for budget forecasting and accuracy, working alongside your finance business partner(s). In addition to annual planning, you will work closely with the Head of Global Marketing to develop a long range vision for improving marketing capabilities and performance.

  • Marketing Operations and MarTech : ensure we run a modern, integrated tech stack to enable personalized, automated and scalable marketing and demand generation, and is fully integrated with sales CRM/SFA for closed loop visibility and joint success. Lead routing, scoring, etc.

  • Analytics/MROI : accurately project and measure marketing outcomes through multi-touch, omni-channel media attribution and media mix modeling. Ensure our channels are optimized and that tactics and content works. Your team, and the dashboards, analytics and data you create, will be consumed by marketing and other executives as the single source of truth for how marketing is performing for the business.

  • CX/NPS : your team is accountable for improving our customers’ experience and likelihood to recommend us as a precursor to achieving our long term growth goals. This spans collecting voice of the customer feedback; providing the business with insights; and working with them to develop CX-improvement plans that improve CSAT and NPS.

  • Analyst Relations : a new function at Iron Mountain, your team will “influence the influencers” by ensuring 1) Iron Mountain gets the information we need from analysts or advisors to make better/faster/smarter business decisions; and 2) we are influencing key analyst advisor firms/analysts, and getting mentioned in articles, Magic Quadrants or other major analyst evaluations

  • Product Marketing : you will be responsible for product marketing for our Records & Information Management (RIM), our largest BU comprising roughly $4B of annualized revenue.

  • Head of Global Marketing Support & Special Projects : you will run select team meetings, including the Marketing Leadership Team and Extended Marketing Leadership Team and operational/planning cadence, and take on special/confidential project work as requested by the Head of Global Marketing.


  • 15+ years of marketing strategy, annual planning, analytics or operations experience, ideally in a large global B2B company.

  • Proven leadership skills building and leading high performing organizations, working across countries and cultures to inspire greatness

  • Ability to work cross-functionally to build integrated teams and plans to achieve Enterprise goals

  • Strong ability to translate quantitative data into actionable recommendations and to translate business objectives into marketing goals and measurements

  • Highly proficient in statistical modeling techniques such as multivariate multiple regression, factor analysis, logistic regression, etc., plus sales pipeline mechanics and optimization

  • Strong working knowledge of Marketing Technology and building an ecosystem that improves Reputation, Relationships and Revenue.

  • Knowledge of NPS and CX design and best practices; how to measure, implement and measure changes.

  • Experience managing or working with Gartner, Forrester, IDC or other advisors

  • Experience working alongside Sales Ops & Enablement to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to translate analyses into easily digestible content for executive management consumption

  • Strong work ethic and organizational skills
